Price
This unit has a RRP of £114.95 which compared to what I’d consider a similar sort of headtorch the Olight Perun 2 (Review coming soon) is £25 more expensive . Though not at the highest end of the price bracket, this is still not a cheap head torch.
The Brightness
At a max power of 1600 lumens this is a pretty powerful headtorch and it can be used for any activity, I found it especially useful for caving. It also has a number of modes wide range of modes on this which enable you to adjust to various situations or just conserve some battery. There’s 30lm , 150lm, 500lm and of course 1600lm.
Water / Dust Resistance And Ruggedness
The unit itself it much tougher than many head torches that I’ve owned (bar the Olight Perun 2) constructed from A6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminium. This stuff is very corrosion resistant and has around the strength of mild steel so as you can imagine this is a seriously solid unit which can take a battering, and if you are into extreme sports like caving this is important! There’s also a type III anodised finish which has a high level of corrosion and abrasion resistance.
The toughened lens glass is also a great feature, as I know considering my luck id probably drop it right on the lens. It’s also good as I’ve already dragged this through plenty of mud, and no scratches thankfully.
At IP68 this unit is very resistant to most conditions being waterproof to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes which is more than enough unless you are planning on going swimming it’s also impact resistant and keeps dust out as well.
Charging / Battery Life
For charging the unit there’s a nifty protection for the USB type-C charging port which is accessed by unscrewing the end of the light, which is a nice bit of design giving the port great protection against water and dirt. There’s also a handy battery indicator built into the switch.

The lockout function is great for when you are transporting the unit, preventing you accidentally switching the unit on and depeleting your battery before your have started you adventure. You just have to hold the power switch for 3 seconds to engage it.
The reflective headband is useful in case you drop it while out on a mission, and the silicone gripper strips a great addition, providing extra grips on your helmet if you are using one. Some real through has gone into the design of this product.
