Mountain Equipment describe these as a ‘Dextrous, lightweight, warm and wind resistant gloves for all-mountain use” in this case these were tested on a Summer ascent of Jebel Toubkal in the Atlas Mountains and on a grade 1 scramble of Sharp Edge on Blencathra, Lake District, UK. Personally I’m finding these to be a great addition to my kit and they are now kept in the hiking pack as the ‘just in case’ gloves for when the weather takes a turn.

Construction Quality: What you’d expect for a lightweight glove, and as tough as you’d expect for gloves in this category.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Weight: At 50g/1.8oz these are very lightweight, they also pack down nice and small.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Comfort And Fit: Very comfortable and close fit – I’d say these are true to size.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Product Features:

Touch screen index fingers and thumbs, useful when using your devices

Silicone print palm for grip

Wind resistant stretch fleece with hard face

Only really complaint here is they don’t have a retaining clip or a loop on the glove to keep the gloves together.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Performance And Usage: Good for light Spring conditions in the UK mountains or high altitude mountains outside of the UK.

On our summer ascent of Mt Toubkal in Morocco these kept the chill off nicely, on Sharp Edge they kept the wind chill off and the grip was also pretty impressive on rock. The touch screen finger and thumb tips are very responsive which is very handy in my case as I tend to be taking lots of photos and putting on and taking off gloves gets old very quickly.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

In summary: A comfortable and grippy mountain glove to keep the chill off without losing dexterity. I’d definitely recommend these gloves however these would be even better with a carabiner loop or something similar as an extra protection against losing one of the pair when switching between gloves.
